I checked alert and traces, but nothing showed. I'm going home now, I'm fed up for today.

Is everything OK with your disk? If the process is waiting for the RDBMS to read
an index block, you might have a problem with your HW (controllers, software,
device being touched by an angel....). Did you take a look into the system log?
The "dmesg" command should tell you if everything is OK.
