Basic RAC Replication Query

I have a basic question regarding Oracle RAC: If I intended to set up a remote disaster recovery platform for an Oracle RAC application that utilised Oracle log-shipping and was happy to run a degraded DR service in the event of a site outage, is there any reason why I couldn't run the DR site as non-RAC (i.e. single node).

Thanks

Chris
