The production release I heard is around Sep/Oct. >From the Oracle education course schedule, it appears that there will be only two exams to get OCP certified in Oracle10g. First exam will take you to the OCA level and second exam will make you OCP. There will be one upgrade exam to 10g if you're already certified. Details @ http://education.oracle.co.uk/html/oracle/1001/73/99/catalogue.htm OCA Exam: Oracle Database 10g: Administration Workshop I OCP Exam: Oracle Database 10g: Administration Workshop II Upgrade to 10g: Oracle Database 10g: New Features for Administrators B. http://www.bijoos.com/oracle/oracle_certified_professional.htm PS: For 7.3 certification, there were 5 exams. For 8i certification, there are 5 exams. For 9i certification, there are 4 exams. For 10g certification, there are 2 exams... May be one can wait till 11'z' is out, there will be only one exam!! -----Original Message----- From: M Rafiq [mailto:rafiq9857@hotmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 24, 2004 10:01 AM To: oracle-l@freelists.org Subject: RE: OCP Preperation -Any Recommended Books , Links , Docs ? Jared, Whether like it or not , I started/completed OCP sometime in year 2000(with 12 years Oracle experience at that time) due to employment requirement. It is still true today. Besides positive part on employment search, it force you to do a lot of reading for new features now which is required to pass upgrade exams. Is any info about 10g upgrade exams? But I doubt that anyone here is getting it to impress their peers. We all know better. Wrong answers, dumb questions, etc. The OCP may be the deciding factor when applying for employment. Check monster.com and dice.com. I have seen ads on several occasions that *require* OCP. It may also be tied to an individuals employment grade and/or salary increase. You just need to consider another perspective on the subject.
