You may have been too subtle for the historically-challenged among our audience. :) I forget, was it Auschwitz or Dachau that had that had that sign (Arbeit Macht Frei) over the entrance?

Amusingly, the sign to one of the Emory University student housing projects looks just like it. (Different wording, of course.)

Incidentally, my cats were quite offended at the statement that controlling developers is like herding cats.

  1. The cats are much smarter.
  2. Cats cannot be herded, only coaxed with tasty smackerels or amusing playtoys. They suggest trying that with the developers instead of trying to herd them.

Yes, that's true. One thing to remember when talking about developers is that work liberates, or in German: "Arbeit Macht Frei". Good organization is the final solution of the developer problem. Of course, I'm a DBA, in case anyone had any doubts.
