Who says that you get support when you do pay money.......

We have been using Samba for a while now, but I don't know of any problems with it or if there was any how it was solved. And they do keep talking about replacing Samba, but it just keeps humming along....

Okay, don't shoot the messenger, I think the question is kind of silly myself, but I have been directed to ask.

As Samba is open source, and we don't know (if it breaks) who we will be able to get to support the product. AND, is there an alternative that is for sale from a company that accomplishes the same thing (allowing for the mapping of a drive from a windows machine to a Unix machine, primarily) that we can pay money for...
