We have rman scripts and monitoring scripts that run every day - looking into what "residue" these might leave on the box. also looking for orphan processes of any sort, and any unnecessary oracle or linux processes. At this point I'm really curious to see if anyone else has had issues running RedHat ES (not AS), which Oracle says is fully certified, just like AS. (Difference is basically the amount of memory each OS can handle - ES is limited to 8Gb). -bill -----Original Message----- From: DENNIS WILLIAMS [mailto:DWILLIAMS@LIFETOUCH.COM] Sent: Monday, March 22, 2004 10:11 To: 'oracle-l@freelists.org' Subject: RE: Linux ES Box Crashing with 9i Bill - Does it crash at the same time each time, or just randomly? Check with the cleaning people. Maybe they unplug it to use their vacuum. Okay, that is an old one. One old technique is to try rebooting periodically and see if that stops or reduces the problem.
