On most platforms, the size of a granule is 4 MB if the total SGA size is less than 128 MB, and it is 16 MB for larger SGAs. There may be some platform dependency, for example, on 32-bit Windows NT, the granule size is 8 MB for SGAs larger than 128 MB. *********************************************************************************************************************** I was right. It is allocated in 16MB increments. When you specify 50MB, you'll be allocated 64MB. Try specifying 53MB. > > > > > Dennis Williams > DBA > Lifetouch, Inc. > dwilliams@lifetouch.com > > -----Original Message----- > From: oracle-l-bounce@freelists.org [mailto:oracle-l-bounce@freelists.org]On > Behalf Of Kommareddy, Srinivas (MED, Wissen Infotech) > Sent: Thursday, March 18, 2004 11:44 AM > To: oracle-l@freelists.org > Subject: strange issue with java_pool_size > > > > Hi All, > > > > OS: solaris 2.8 > > DB: 9i (9.2.0.3) > > > > When we set java_pool_size to 50M (52428800) in init.ora and bounce the db, > it is showing the value as 64M (67108864). > > > > Can somebody throough some light on this ? > > > > Has anyone encountered this situation ?
