Then type cmd.

You too can go to the short cut, too and to avoid it close automatically, sometimes you need. To change the behavior, of it, for example to avoid it close automatically when it ends you can change the default values at:
F:\WINDOWS\_default.pif

  I'm running my 9.2 on XP Prof. SP1. I need DOS at my Command Prompt but cannot find it. Is it on XP? If so, where is it?
