Starting Oracle10g's database console

I must have offended the gods. My Oracle10g database is running, I can connect using iSQL*Plus, but for the life of me I can't start the Enterprise Manager Database Console. Here's what happens when I try:

oracle_at_gennick02:~> emctl start dbconsole     TZ set to US/Eastern
Unable to determine local host from URL EMD_URL=http://gennick02.gennick.com:/emd/main     .
    oracle_at_gennick02:~>

This is a fresh install, running on a certified platform: SuSE Linux Enterprise Server, Service Pack 3. Something is screwed up here, but what?
