sqlplus and HTTP_PROXY

Hi list

I was wondering what the h%=A7&ck the HTTP_PROXY environment variable = has to
with sql*plus?
After I set it, sql*plus always gave up with internal error 46 on = startup. I
googled and=20
found the hint to unset it, did that, ... worked again. I just don't seem to see how these two are related?!
