I don't installed it in Linux but, what I had seen,checking at the support matrix Suse and redhat advanced server are the linux releases better tested for Oracle.

For example at http://otn.oracle.com/tech/linux/index.html you can check the articles are about redhat and suse principally

Ok, since we're all talking about Oracle on Linux, how about Oracle 9i/10g on SuSE Linux 9.0 Personal edition.

I just bought a copy over the weekend and installed it on my machine. Now thinking of installing Oracle 9i or 10g but hoping that someone has already done it.

No, I'm not a trailblazer.
