Well I'll say that I'm excited about the book. Pete did an awsome job reviewing it (great job Pete!), Jonathan Lewis has some great comments (great job Jonathan!), and Oracle also pitched in as well on suggesting content (some of which I disagreed with and some of which was great).... so we are just about ready to goto print! Wooo Hooo!!!

If you want a hand holding DBA book, this isn't the book for you. This isn't an OCP book either, as the OCP test for 10g isn't even out yet. But if you want a down and dirty review of new features of the database, with some good examples to get you *started* (and it's up to you to take it to the limit of it's capibilities!) then this is the book for you!

Reviewing the pages against the production version, which is a good thing, as I wouldn't want the book to be "betatized" (as some other 10g books are who shall remain nameless). I've found a number of differences, thus far, in the two chapters I've checked. Most of them minor, but still, irritating never the less.

Robert

Well, no doubt Robert will reply with more details, but I've been told I =
don't have much more to do with reviewing it. Of course, I have to = agree that it's an excellent book. :)

Haven't seen Mike's book so I can't comment on it. Maybe it'll be = around at RMOUG Training Days?

Speaking of the various books, I'm eagerly anticipating Robert =20 Freeman's book "Oracle Database 10G New Features". Will it start shipping in March? I started reading the "10g New Features" by Mike Ault and group of authors, by Rampant Press and I must say that it's a very, very good book. I must say thanks to Don Burleson for giving me a copy so early.
