It's a good thing I signed up to be notified when it becomes available for download. <sigh>

Once again, ORACLE-L proves it's worth!

Subject: 10g Price drop and increased CPU for SE One

Hi all

Thought you might be interested to know that Oracle has announced that the price of Oracle 10g Standard Edition One has been reduced by US$1000 to US$4999. The restriction to limit it to a single CPU box has been lifted to allow it to now run on 2 CPU servers.

Rumour has it that RAC will now be included in the Standard Editions and possibly as a base product, not as an option. i.e. free

Let wait and see if they reduce the price per CPU for Enterprise Edi.

PS - You might be want to down load a copy of 10g (HP-UX only at the moment) from OTN
