Hi all

Thought you might be interested to know that Oracle has announced that the price of Oracle 10g Standard Edition One has been reduced by US$1000 to US$4999. The restriction to limit it to a single CPU box has been lifted to allow it to now run on 2 CPU servers.

Rumour has it that RAC will now be included in the Standard Editions and possibly as a base product, not as an option. i.e. free

Let wait and see if they reduce the price per CPU for Enterprise Edi.

PS - You might be want to down load a copy of 10g (HP-UX only at the moment) from OTN http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/database/oracle10g/index.html
