RPT was great stuff. In addition to SELECT statements it could do full
DML, DDL, and DCL (I think.) Like Unix it was just particular on who it
was friendly with. :-) Then there was RPT2C. Now there's perl.

The RPT & RPF Oracle class was what made me go looking very quickly for a batch Oracle tool. Then I found SQR. (This was all before PL/SQL and the current versions of Oracle Reports). We bought it and the rest was history. Why Oracle didn't buy SQR when they had a chance amazes me.
