We did that this year except it was 8.0.6 SE and 8.1.7 EE. No big issue. Other than having 2 listeners on different ports the most annoying task was that the method of setting the Oracle Home and associated environment variables for the usage by the shell scripts and the database start procedures initiated by server bootstrap had to be changed.

This was a server consolidation effort.
