Perhaps I should be more specific:

    sys.dbms_system.set_int_param_in_session(p_sid, p_serial#,       'max_dump_file_size', 'unlimited'); gives:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error

    sys.dbms_system.set_int_param_in_session(p_sid, p_serial#,       'max_dump_file_size', 2147483647 + 1); gives:
ORA-01426: numeric overflow
