Austrian? Local characters? I was fully convinced that Austrians speak German. As an inhabitant of ex-YU, I did a lot of shopping in Graz and even Munich. There wasn't much difference, even "joo" was the same.

Mein Deutsch war ziemlich fliessend fruher, aber jetzt, Ich weiss nicht.

God, do I hate writing in German without umlauts and "scharfes S"!
