Problem with Autotrace ?

Guys,

SET AUTOTRACE works fine on the Database server machine. the database server ENV is 9.2.0.3/Win2k AS - With SP3.

SQL>connect cti/cti;
SQL>set autot trace
SQL>

whereas when i try the same from a different machine,i get the error below. { this client machine has 9.2.0.2/Win2K server - with SP3 }

SQL>connect cti/cti_at_mf;
SQL>set autot trace
SP2-0618: Cannot find the Session Identifier. Check PLUSTRACE role is enabled SP2-0611: Error enabling STATISTICS report

.seems to be unusual.isn't it ?
had anyone faced the same problem ?
can someone help me out.
