Thanks. The problem was with my inattention. Having unzipped the zip file, I failed to note that I had to unzip the jar file. Old age and assuming that zipped files would be .ZIP files were my problem.

It's been a month or two since I did this, but I did verify that the version was ...18.0, and I could swear that was the jar file I used. I'm going to install it on another machine and note my steps, then I'll post another reply.
