Nah - no reason not to use it, especially given how long they've been around. Basically you should enable jumbo frames everywhere you can - whenever your box talks to a host that doesn't support them, it just won't use them, and when it can it'll get the performance advantage (side note: your switch has to support jumbo frames as well, but every major managed switch manufacturer does, so that's not such a big deal). Everyone wins.
