Madhu,

        Changing the SYS and SYSTEM passwords is something we do periodically here and we have no issues with it. It actually does not mess up your password file. What would concern me is the database links. In my book SYS and SYSTEM should NOT have any dblinks or any dblinks that refer to them. They are forbidden schemas to use.

Hello ALL,
We have a plan to change the SYS and SYSTEM user's passwords. There are two DBLINKs created for each user and I am not sure who is using them , Is there any way ( trace ) to check who is using these DBLINKs ??

Also you might have done the password changes many times for SYS/SYSTEM , were there any issues associated with password change ??

The following info. might be useful for your replies:

SQL> select * from v$pwfile_users;

USERNAME                       SYSDB SYSOP
------------------------------ ----- -----
INTERNAL                       TRUE  TRUE
SYS                            TRUE  TRUE

remote_login_passwordfile=exclusive

I will be grateful , pl share your experiences with me.

Thank You,
Madhu Reddy
