Really.

Anybody who takes this advice had better have another job lined up. Because this is very dangerous behavior.

It's ok to play with stuff like this on a test database where you can throw it away when the eventual crash occurs. But to suggest to someone that they should try this on a real database is wrong. And to accept this advice is foolish.

And Bhaskar, to answer your question - Oracle does not support column names that are longer than 30 characters. This is a hard standard and can not be changed.
