MessageRman should do what you want and it is included with the Oracle server. You can do online (hot) backups and point in time recovery plus a lot of other nice things. Have a look and see if it will fill your needs,

Ruth

We are using Oracle 8.1.7 on MS2000 servers to host remote installations of Livelink in Germany and China. The application requires point-in-time recovery capabilities. Our standard is to use the BMC product SQL Backtrack on all Oracle servers. But we are getting so many of them and the cost is so high I need to find another solution. Export is not an option due to the recovery requirements. Can someone point me to a few backup dynamic backup scripts for the NT / 2000 environment? Any other suggestions?

  Thanks!
