You're still missing a second quote.

 I deleted some data in error and would like to recover it using the RMAN backup.
 I am attempting to do a point-in-time recovery on an 8.1.7 database. The backup is from the weekly LEVEL0 RMAN backup with archivelogs. I issue the command and nothing happens. Can anyone shed some light on the
subject?
RMAN > connect target...
RMAN> connect catalog...
RMAN> run {
set until time "TO_DATE('05/21/2003 16:15:00','MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS');
shutdown immediate;
startup mount;
allocate channel d1 type disk;
restore database;
recover database;
alter database open resetlogs;
}
The RMAN prompt returns and that's all that happens.

I tried restoring a datafile and that was successfull within RMAN but I
could not get the "until time" phrase to work. Any assistance would be appreciated.
I am waiting on the OS cold backup from tape to find the proper datafile to restore and then I will issue the "recover database until time" commmand from the svrmgrl prompt. I was looking for a method of restoring the datafile from the weekly LEVEL0 backup and archivelogs. Thanks,
Ron
