Yes, just set the RUN_FASTER=TRUE parameter in sqlnet.ora. Just kidding. My experience has been that the networking side tends to be set up pretty good out of the box. However, your situation may run into problems in one of the following areas:
1. Excessive trips between the client and server. 2. Big packets. 3. Scalability.

Anyone on the list done any experiments by adjusting O/S, init.ora or network parameter files to show how SQLPLUS connections either locally or over the network can speed up or slow down. If so, could you please direct me as needed.
