that's fine in oracle Database 9i release one but not in release 2. In the last u only can have locally managed tablespaces where u can not use pctincrease.
I'm trying to find a solution but couldn't yet. Regards

If you meant shrink the amount used within the temp tablespace, you could try this. Our temp tablespaces are set at 10 percent normally. Altering it to 0 percent then immediately back to 10 percent usually cleans it up.

alter tablespace temp default storage(pctincrease 0);

alter tablespace temp default storage(pctincrease 10);

For the most part, I don't do this unless some runaway process or SQL filled the temp tablespace. Had a developer fill up a 2GB temp tablespace in a development DB just yesterday. Left me a nice ORA-1652: unable to extend temp segment by 750 in tablespace TEMP in the alert log!
