I have never actually installed intermedia, but I believe you install/enable it by executing a few scripts. If there are additional binaries required on your primary database you will have to install those on the standby instance as well. The scripts you execute on the primary will create the same objects on the standby instance during recovery, so you will not need to execute them separately there. If you are adding a tablespace/datafile to the production system, your standby will produce an error during recovery because you have introduced a new datafile to the system. You should take a look at the 8i Standby Database Concepts and Administration manual, specificially the chapter on maintaining a standby database. The section on responding to events that affect a standby instance contains step by step instructions on adding the datafile to the standby.

  I have a primary and secondary database which gets synchronized once in a day . Now i want to apply intermedia on primary database . MY doubt is how to reflect this change in secondary .Do i need to apply intermedia in secondary or do i need to recreate the secondary again .Please help me in solving this problem ...
