Yup, it appears to be limited to "only" 999, at least in v7.3 thru 7.5+ beta....

use the F8 key in TOAD. Recalls the last 1000+ SQL statements that were
run.
it also have the 'autocomplete' functionality too...
for instance... I type 'sf' then space and it replaces it with 'select *
from' pretty easy...
