the best way to disable this feature is to *not* run the OEM console! :)
I've given up on it.

I will *think* (forget use) about this feature (auto-update) when Oracle figures out when we Say "AIX 5.1L 64 bit" does not mean "32 bit" when releasing patch.
Until then, I need to know the hidden parameter to disable (or kill) this auto-whatever feature or else we won't install.

I agree. Sounds like they took the MS/XP approach to keeping the OS up to
date.
Well, my DB is not a (home) desktop OS. Sorry, I'll apply the patches
me-self.
