Saira,

a simple way to check is to look at the size of the data files (using OEM). if you see the high water mark increasing, or the size of the rollback segments increasing, then you know that something is happening.

if you used the 'commit = y' parameter provided with the import utility, you could also do periodic 'select count(*) from table_name' to see if the record counts are growing.

hope this helps

How can I find out if an import is dead or alive? I have an import of 1.6M+ rows that's been running for over 45 minutes.

Oracle 8.1.7.0.0
AIX 4.3.3 What can I check?

Thanks,
Saira
