I remember using gdb for core dump analysis, but that was in the past when I had nothing better to do ;)
There is a good front-end for gdb (xgdb), but it's still very tedious.

Hi!
My database produces a core dump every minute, but we have no idea why. Nothing gets written to the alert log or the like. Hardly anybody is on the system and even bouncing the instance didn't help... How do I read the core dumps created in the udump directory? This seems to be a binary file.
/udump/core_1542/core (about 600 MB in size) Or is th eonly way to send it to Oracle Support for analysis? This is 8.1.7 on Solaris 8.
