That's definitely one step in the right (wrong) direction -

You now have a few more options to get really silly answers - By the way, I didn't think of doing a parallel query, so I guess you may have pushed my target up by a factor of about 250 (although I'd have to check if cost -> cost / N when doing a tablescan with N slaves, and is 254 the maximum slave count I could use). That would put the hypothetical limit to:

        384 Billion rows.
