AK,

		hi,to use rman to restore controlfile, you have to get the catalog database. Or noway.
	Think of it, without controlfile or catalog, one instance, it has no idear, right?
	If you use rman without catalog , you have to backup controlfile manually, I think. How did you do dbms_backup_recovery to restore your controlfile without catalog or controlfile?
