To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L

definition please for:

"many" -- quantify please: how many said they agree out of how many surveyed out of how many DBAs are considered "experienced"

which brings me to the next definition:

define "experienced" -- number of years working with Oracle? number of complicated databases worked with? number of tables dealt with? number of various versions of Oracle worked with?

I have way too much work to do to worry about how many different blocksizes I have in the database, along with a number of different buffer cache sizes and various and assorted pools.

Pick a reasonable database block size, define your multiple locally managed tablespaces to have reasonable extent sizes and work on tuning something important -- like business processes and wait events.
