Hello List,

I have a question about database recovery with RMAN, Oracle 9i R2.

I have a full database backup done with rman command "backup database" It includes original control file and spfile and all datafiles. Primary server has gone.

How to run recovery process using this backupset on another machine with the same Oracle version and OS? I suppose I don't need to create any database on new place. I have to start some idle instance and use rman to restore and recovery files. Am I right? What are the necessary steps I have to do?

Thank you for your help in advance.
