Pat,
I think you will find that most of the DBA's here will agree with you on the need for recognizing the competent developers.

Competent developers are NOT DUHvelopers. DUHvelopers are those types that, like the subject of the lead of this thread, just don't get it. Putting all the tables and indexes for an application in the same tablespace AND having that tablespace be SYSTEM is a DUHveloper act not a developer act. This is type of bozo stunt is worthy of the derision that this thread has generated. If you are offended by the term DUHveloper, take a deep breath, step back, and visualize this guy as a consultant on your development team or worse your supervisor. It will help you put into perspective that we don't encompass all developers with this term... only those that deserve it. Feel free to use it yourself when it applies. Sooner or later you will have the misfortune of having to work with one and understanding will be clear. ;-0
