I'd like to take this time to announce a new service called "Remote Database Babysitters of the Universe." I'll collect my monthly fees until a diaper needs changing then I'm outta here and laughing all the way to the bank. ;-)

I see you have a nice Rolex and according to the contract you need to let me use it. Now, just ask me what time it is.

  Wait a minute. If your production is stable, then what are they going to be doing for your money? This is like paying for snow clearing in July. Give them the unstable system with the demanding users that always curse when they call you. Then you'll get your money's worth.

They said they will provide any type of service (recovery, patches, applicatioin roll over, montior for performance, etc) and best is 24x7, just call the hot line and provide them userid and password. Since our production is very stable we might get a way with this type of service.

Not sure of the gotachas...
