I tried it. It doesn't work. First, installer dies. That can be resolved by setting LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1. Then the installer starts working but then
you get a ton of unresolved linker symbols which can be traced to the library
called "glibc". You can try an elegant install of an old, RH 8.0 glibc (rpm --nodeps) but be aware it will break some insignificant parts of your software, like Xfree86, for example. Console mode works perfectly, just like in the good, old days when IBM intended PC to be a smart terminal. If only there was a BSC or SDLC emulator of 3278 for Linux, my world would be perfect. Of course, when everything is done, you can always reload RH 8.0

or Slackware on your box and practice the finer points of the English language,
consisting mainly of the phrases beginning with the letter 'F'.
