The Guru Labs review of Red Hat 9 notes a major JVM conflict with Oracle 9i: http://www.gurulabs.com/RedHatLinux9-review.html

A web site has an Oracle9i installation guide for other Red Hat versions: http://www.puschitz.com/OracleOnLinux.shtml

Oracle 9iR2 is certified on Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1, SuSE SLES 7, UnitedLinux 1.0 SP1, and RedFlag DC Server 4.0 (China - Hong Kong).

UnitedLinux is available in four distributions: Conectiva Linux Enterprise Edition
SCO Linux Server 4.0
SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 (SLES 8)
Turbolinux Enterprise Server 8 Advanced and Basic

Red Hat does offer an Advanced Server developer version ($60): http://www.redhat.com/software/rhel/developer/

The RedHat Oracle web page is:
http://www.redhat.com/oracle/

SuSE offers many links and documents:
http://www.suse.com/us/business/certifications/certified_software/oracle/

The Oracle Technology Network web site for linux is: http://otn.oracle.com/linux

Have Fun :)
