 You are backing up your database...which will create backup files ya...in them you are folding in
 the archivelogs that are available...ja

I have the RMAN backup and recovery book my Robert Freeman and Matthew Hart, but I'm unable to find any reference to a file created by

RMAN> backup database plus archivelog;

The file is in the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs location along with the snapshot controlfile copy. It is called Ogek5oh9_1_1. I searched Metalink and Google as well as the orafaq database on snapcf hoping to find a reference to this file also, but came up empty. Does anyone know what this file is that RMAN created automatically? Can you point me to the page in the book?
