Oracle-L: RE: RMAN hangs

Do you have any idea what the tape drive is doing during that hour? How often does the device seem to operate? Short bursts throughout the hour, or quiet for the whole hour and then runs for 2-3 minutes?

Hi Gurus,
We are doing a RMAN full backup ( controlfile) each night using omniback to tape drives.Almost daily we found that during backup of some archivelogs it takes more then 1 hr ( size 30M) while for all others it takes 2-3 mins. Do you guys have any idea , what might be the reason . Any hint ?
