Re: Database hang on Shutdown

There's another thread on this list this week regarding shutdown. You should probably read it.

Barring that, you should start using 'shutdown immediate' at the very least.

If that doesn't work, use 'shutdown abort'.

As for being unable to make another connection, the state of the database should not affect that if you are connecting as 'internal' or as '/ as sysdba'.
