Depending on the OS, Microsoft has different CPU counts. The Windows 2000 family
counts each hyper thread as 1 CPU. In contrast, Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server
count each CPU instead of each hyper thread. Thus, the task manager in Windows XP
Professional show 4 CPU's (on a dual XEON CPU computer with hyper threading enabled) while Windows 2000 Professional only shows 2 CPU's in the task manager.
