Scott,

  1. Contact the Oracle Sales rep. that sold Oracle product to the company. Usually, he would have the details on whether there is a free support available (generally during the first three months). Also, he could coordinate with Oracle support to get a CSI #.
  2. If the sales rep says you don't have a support contract, then, depending on your needs "NEGOTIATE" with Oralce sales rep. on the price of support. The price of support varies from company to company and also on many other factors.

my client has oracle v8.1.6 and v9.0.1.
we need to access metalink now.
at http://metalink.oracle.com,
Customer Support Identifier (CSI) is required to register. where & how can we get a CSI ?

can any customer having a licensed copy of oracle access metalink ? if so , what is the procedure to get it ?

                       OR

is it restricted to customers with gold/silver support ?

help me guys.
