There is actually now a comment in the 9iR2 doc's that it's ok to start generating stats on the SYSTEM tablespace (in prep for the removal of RBO in 10i). Has anyone actually done that in 9iR2, and what is your experience?

I remember it was noted here that dbms_stats.gather_database_stats was busted in 8i, it went about attacking system ts. Is that fixed in 9.2.0.2?
