$cd ${STUFF}/log
$cat ../parms/dbimpl.Connect
connect dbimpl/password_at_tnsname as sysdba -- Optionally, could have sql*plus environment modifications $cat ../sql/demo.sql
@../parms/&1..Connect
-- SQL commands
shutdown
exit
$sqlplus /nolog @../sql/demo.sql dbimpl

The unix permissions on the parms directory can be quite restrictive (only authorized people).
The sql directory can be read only to the world (no passwords are stored in any scripts).
The ps command cannot display the password, but can show what script is running.

Have Fun :)
