Since you're interested in that, Veritas can also backup databases in the same way, though we don't have the product for that.

Block level incrementals without RMAN. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me, provided recovery is as simple as it is with RMAN. They can work magic when they own the filesystem. ( vxfs )
