Lisa,

I'm using Windows 2000 with Oracle DataBase 9i. And I had a similar problem with you afer install the database. The Listener service does not show in the list of Windows services.

Try stop the listener and restart it.
Use the application "LSNRCTL" at Commaand Prompt Type "STOP" and them "START".
