Huh. In the Oracle 8.1 documentation (Oracle8i Reference - Release 2 (8.1.6) - Part Number A76961-01) I see a default value for MAX_ENABLED_ROLES of 20. However in the 8.1.7 database I'm running on my PC max_enabled_roles is not mentioned in the init.ora, and the value I see from v$parameter is 30.
